Frères Jackmans Press Release - 1992
I found this today: a "very professionally" written press release for my old band, Frères Jackman & The International Elevators. If memory serves, we even used to "fax" the press releases to the papers. Boy, we were so ahead of the game!

Shocked insiders within the Frères Jackman camp were today reeling at the news that an injunction had been brought against them by a leading international record company, refraining the band from using the "Frères Jackman & The International Elevators" name.
The record company reveled in a lengthy legal document that they felt that the band's name had been directly influenced by their own signing "Fairy Jacques & The Elevator Musak Band".
The record company goes on to add that the boy's recent album, "Dropped", also cynically plagiarises Fairy Jacques own recent release "Accidentally Let Go Off...".
The Jackman's themselves deny the allegations categorically, stating that they have never even heard of Fairy Jacques. Furthermore, they also fail to see any similarity between Jacques "Sunny LA (Living is Great in the West of the States)" and their own "Sunny Phibsboro (Living is Heaven in Dublin 7)".
Undaunted by this news, however, the band are continuing to play around the country, using their old moniker, at the following venues.
Wed. 29th September Kelly's, Portrush, Co. Antrim
Fri. 1st October Bridge Hotel, Waterford
Sat 2nd October Antlantic Hotel, Ballybunion, Co. Kerry
Sun 3rd October Halfway House, Ballycogley, Co. Wexford
Tue 5th October DCU, Glasnevin, Dublin
Fri 8th October UCD, Belfield, Dublin
If the band are, in the future, in the unfortunate position of having to change their name, the fave option at the moment seems to be "You Two", referring, of course, to the founding members of the band, brothers Martin and Pat Jackman. The band are sure that they will not have similar problems with this new name.
